Over 300 people gathered in Seattle to bring in the New Year as well as support the funding of over $10,000 for International Orphan Care (IOC). Many wore traditional attire as they enjoyed dinner from Kabul Restaurant, Gyro to Go and the Halal Grocery Store. Live Afghan music and a comedian with true Afghan humor made the festivities extra meaningful. This all became possible with the efforts and teamwork of dedicated friends. Juliana Ditty, Vice President of IOC and Dr. Azam Azimi, both from California, conducted visual presentations of the Jalalabad school.
Many thanks to Ariana TV and Ariana Afghanistan TV for free advertisements. There is a wonderful Afghan community in Washington State, which many are proud to be a part of.
